2 more devotees die at Ijtema

GAZIPUR: Two devotees died due to cold related diseases in Tongi Biswa Ijtema at Gazipur early Saturday.

Identity of the deceased, aged between 60 and 70, could not be known immediately.

Adam Ali, one of the Ijtema management officials, confirmed the death news of two devotees to banglanews.

Namaz-e-janaza of the deceased was held after Fajr prayers.

Earlier, at least five devotees died due to cold related diseases and accident in Tongi Biswa Ijtema at Gazipur from Thursday night to Friday morning.

Three of the deceased were identified as Hedayet Ullah, 70 and Nure Alam, 65, hailed from Noakhali Sadar, Tozammel Sarkar, 72, hailed from Magura, Abdul Latif, 75 hailed from Comilla and Abdur Rob, 75, form Gopalganj.

Hedayet Ullah died in an accident while three others died due to cold related deceases.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi Thana Ismail Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
