Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted heavy to very heavy rainfalls in the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions today (Sept 12).

According to the BMD bulletin, landslide may occur in Chattogram division due to the heavy rainfall.

It said: "Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions."

The bulletin also said as the monsoon is active over Bangladesh, parts of the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may see heavy (44-88 mm of rain in a 24-hour period) to very heavy rain (over 88 mm in 24 hours).
