DHAKA: Some seven doctors were suspended for absence at their work stations at several hospitals under Narshingdi district on Sunday.

The suspended doctors are Shibpur Upazila Health Complex medical officer Dr Rajib Mahmud, Dr Ashfaque Nabi, Jessore Upasasthya Kendro assistant surgeon Dr M Mahmudul Kabir Bashar, Polash Upazila Health Complex junior consultant Dr Pabina Afroz Parveen, Gazaria Upasasthya Kendro medical officer Dr Nahida Begum, assistant surgeon Dr M Sharif Ahmed and Danga Upasasthya Kendro assistant surgeon Dr Nurnahar.

The directives came as an order signed by health minister Muhammad Nasim.

Earlier in the day, joint secretary of health ministry Bashudev Ganguly and Heath department director (Administration) Dr M Shahnewas found the doctor’s guilty as they were absent in hospital on working hour.

They were in a sudden visit in the district’s health centers for ensuring better medical treatment and looking into the administrative system.
