Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today sought cooperation from the United Kingdom (UK) to bring back money laundered from Bangladesh during the previous government.
“The UK is a trusted development partner of Bangladesh for a long time. The two countries have excellent bilateral relations in terms of trade and investment. It is possible to take this bilateral relationship to a higher level by working together,” he added.
The adviser said this during a meeting with Deputy High Commissioner and Development Director at the British High Commission in Dhaka James Goldman at the industries ministry’s conference room in the Dhaka.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including trade and investment.
James Goldman expressed his country’s support for the interim government and said Bangladesh and the United Kingdom (UK) are working together and the two countries want to work more closely by forming specialized teams.
He also expressed his determination to cooperate with the legal process for returning the money laundered from Bangladesh.
Among others, Senior Secretary of the industries ministry Zakia Sultana also spoke on the occasion.
