Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, former ICT state minister, and 17 others sued over the leaking of NID information. 

On the other hand, 15 to 20 unidentified people have been accused in the same case.

One Enamul Haque filed the case with Kafrul Police Station on Wednesday (Oct 9).

According to the case statement, accused Joy, former ICT adviser to Hasina, and Palak permitted one Digicon Global Services Ltd to do business with several farms by using the NID information without ensuring national and personal safety.

The NID information was sold to 182 organisations in home and abroad, it reads.

Insecurity has been created among people due to availability of the NID information to a third party, according to the case. The complainant also alleged that the accused embezzled Tk20, 000 crore.
