Krishak League leader among 3 killed

GAZIPUR: Three people including Krishak League leader were killed and four others injured in two different road accidents at Tongi and Kapasia upazilas of the district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Alam Palowan, 35, member of Krishak League Central Executive Committee resident of Sadar upazila, Farooq, 30, the auto-rickshaw driver, hailed from Monohardi upazila of Narsingdi and the other one was a mental patient and resident of the area.

In Tongi ---a passenger bus rammed into Alam Palowan on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in front of Kaderia Textile Mills around 12:45pm, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he was rushed to Tongi Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.

Tongi Thana Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On the other hand, in Kapasia--- two people were killed as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a passenger bus on Rajendrapur-Kapasia road in Jamirachar area, leaving six people injured critically.

The injured were rushed to hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries.

The Officer-in-Charge of Kapasia Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
