Job seekers leave Petrobangla area after viva assurance

Job seekers demanding quick viva exams and results for positions under Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) left their protest in front of Petrobangla area of the capital on Sunday (Nov 17) afternoon.

They vacated the area around 12:45 pm after receiving information that the viva exams would be held soon.

Earlier this morning, the protesters, who had passed the written test for 17 employee categories under KGDCL’s revenue sector, gathered in front of Petrobangla to press their demands.

According to the protesters, Petrobangla issued a job circular in 2022 for KGDCL. After passing the written test, the candidates faced delays as the viva exams were postponed three times. Despite organizing a human chain on October 23, they saw no progress and resumed protests today.

Sources confirmed that the recruitment process for KGDCL is being conducted from Chattogram and that the viva exams will be held soon.

Following this assurance, the job seekers ended their sit-in protest.
