CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court issued arrest warrant against four top industrialists of the port city in cheque fraudulent cases filed by commercial banks.
The accused are Noorjahan Group’s Merin Vegetable Oil Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Jahir Ahmed, Masers Jusmia Vegetable Oil Ltd Chairman Tipu Sultan, Samannaj Super Oil Limited Managing Director Shahabuddin Alam and his wife Chairman of the same company Yasmin Alam.
Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mujibur Rahman issued the arrest warrant on Wednesday.
The case statement reads that the accused had done cheque fraud with various commercial banks, including Sonali, Agrani and commerce banks.
