DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken three-tier security measures to ensure overall security of Central Shaheed Minar area on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.

In a press conference at Shaheed Minar premises, RAB director general Mokhlesur Rahman came up with the disclosure at 11:00am Thursday.  

Huge RAB members along with dog squad, 20 CCTV cameras, and four moving cameras will be deployed in the area.

In reply to a quarry about whether any Al-Qaeda threat has been received, the RAB chief said, “No, we did not receive any threat so far. But for sake of security of the people, we took security measures keeping in mind all kinds of apprehension and threat. ”

RAB’s legal media wing commander ATM Habibur Rahman, RAB-3 director Mollik kFakhrul Islam and senior officials were present during the time.
