DHAKA: A businessman was killed in a road accident in Jatrabari area in the capital on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Mainuddin, 45, resident of Dhalpur area under Jatrabari Thana of the capital.

Police sources said that a rashly driven CNG-run auto-rickshaw knocked Mainuddin down while he was crossing the road in the area around 11:30am, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:00pm, sources added.

Sub-Inspector of Jatrabari Thana Rezwanul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
