DHAKA: A woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Agargaon area of the capital Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Nargis Ara Aktar, 32, wife of Hares Mia of Tejkunipara in Tejgaon, hailed from Madaripur Sadar.

The injured--Rashida Begum, and her daughter Munni—were rushed to Suhrawardy Hospital.

Witnesses told banglanews that a private car knocked Nargis’s rickshaw van down near the trade fair ground area while returning from Suhrawardy Hospital around 2:00pm, leaving them injured.

Rafiqul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana, said they were rushed to the hospital and fatally injured Nargis was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared her dead.

Nargis’ husband said the wounded persons were their neighbors.
