2 JMB men get 15-yr imprisonment

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday awarded 15-year rigorous imprisonment to two member of Jama`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh in an explosives case.

Dhaka Speedy trial court-3 Judge ABM Sajedur Rahman passed the order at noon.

The court also fined them Tk 25,000 each in default of which the JMB men would have to suffer two more years of imprisonment.

The convicts are-members of Jama`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh Ehsar Member Saiful Islam and Abdur Rahman alias Alal alias Fahad.

Besides, the court also acquitted a man named Abu Taleb as he was not found guilty.

According to the case statement, the convicts were held with huge explosives including arms, 195 detonators and drugs on December 29, 2006.

Meanwhile, a police source was killed during the drive and following the incidents four separate cases were filed against them.
