Dhaka decisions won't be made in Delhi, says Hasnat Hasnat Abdullah

Anti-Discrimination Student Movement convenor Hasnat Abdullah on Tuesday (Jan 14) said they would not compromise on matters concerning Bangladesh’s sovereignty.

He said that external dominance, particularly by India, would no longer dictate the country’s governance, adding, “Decisions about Dhaka will not be made in Delhi.”

Abdullah made these remarks while speaking at a brief gathering organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Narayanganj.

In his speech, Abdullah rejected the idea of any cooperation with the ruling Awami League, calling it a “killer party.”

Abdullah called on veteran political leaders to prioritize national interests over personal ambitions and engage with the youth to rebuild the nation.

He emphasized the need for unity to create a post-2024 Bangladesh free from the influence of the Awami League, concluding, “Together, we will build a new Bangladesh, but there will be no place for the Awami League in it.”
