Dhaka air most polluted on Friday morning

Dhaka, the overcrowded capital of Bangladesh, has topped the list of cities with the worst air quality, recording an AQI score of 255 at 09:01am on Friday, classifying the air as very unhealthy.

The city's air quality is heavily impacted by pollutants such as particulate matter, NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone.

Following Dhaka, Hanoi (Vietnam), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Delhi (India) ranked second, third, and fourth with AQI scores of 234, 201, and 189, respectively.

The AQI, which measures the cleanliness of the air and its potential health risks, highlights the growing concern over air pollution.

Dhaka's air quality worsens in winter and improves during the monsoon. According to the WHO, air pollution kills an estimated seven million people annually worldwide.
