MOHESKHALI (COX’S BAZAR): The voting in Moheskhali upazila, in the second phase of the fourth Upazila Parishad elections, ended peacefully amid tight security.

The voting started from 8:00am in the morning and ended at 4:00pm Saturday.

Some 25 candidates are vying for three posts—chairman, vice-chairman and woman vice-chairman—in the upazila.

There are 188,528--male 96,876 and female 91,655-- in the upazila.

A total of 766 polling officers, 68 presiding officers and 383 assistant presiding officers, observed polls duty in 383 booths of 68 polling centers in the upazila.  

Officer-in-Charge of Moheskhali Thana Alamgir Hossain told banglanews that local administration had identified 40 polling centers out of 68 as risky and took tight security measures.
