The holy night of Shab-e-Barat will be observed in Bangladesh on the night of February 14 (Friday).
The decision was made on Thursday (January 30) during a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office in the capital.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain, adviser to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The committee announced that the moon of Shaban 1446 Hijri was not sighted anywhere in Bangladesh on Thursday. As a result, the month of Rajab will be completed with 30 days on January 31 (Friday), and Shaban will begin on February 1 (Saturday). Accordingly, Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the night of February 14.
