DHAKA: A journalist died after falling from the roof top of the Uttara (West) Thana building of the city on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Shah Alam Sagor, 40.

Police claimed journalist Sagor fell down while trying to flee from the thana around 6:45pm.

Assistant Commissioner of Uttara Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Saifullah Mohammad confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Meanwhile, local people claimed Sagor fell down when police chase him.

A general diary (GD) was filed against Sagor for publishing news over corruption but the AC denied the matter.
