‘Command Center’ launched to strengthen law and order: Press wing

The newly established 'Command Center' has begun operations aimed at improving the law and order situation across the country, said Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

He made this announcement during a press briefing held by the Chief Advisor’s Press Wing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Sunday, February 9.

He said that the 'Command Center' became operational on Sunday evening, following the launch of 'Operation Devil Hunt.' The center was set up based on a decision made in a meeting involving the Chief Adviser, the Home Affairs Adviser, and senior law enforcement officials, to enhance coordination among various law enforcement agencies.

“The center will ensure better coordination between forces such as the Police, BGB, Coast Guard, and RAB, which fall under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Besides, representatives from the armed forces will be present to support the effort in maintaining law and order,” Shafiqul Alam said.

He added that these personnel have been empowered with the authority of special executive magistrates to help ensure swift enforcement.

He hoped that the Command Center would lead to improvements in the country’s law and order situation, allowing for quicker responses to potential threats.

“If there is any indication of a breakdown in law and order anywhere, the Command Center will respond promptly,” he assured.

In response to queries about the operation and management of the Command Center, he clarified that the Ministry of Home Affairs will coordinate its activities. Representatives from all relevant forces will be involved, and regular monitoring will be conducted.

Shafiqul Alam also provided details about the report titled ‘Bangladesh Economy: Recent Challenges and Future Actions’, which was submitted to the Chief Advisor by the Ministry of Finance.

Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder and Apurba Jahangir and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi also attended the briefing.
