A team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has recovered some bones from the demolished residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital.
The CID team, consisting of five to six members, visited Dhanmondi 32 at 9 a.m. and collected several pieces of evidence from the scene.
Special Police Superintendent Jashim Uddin Khan, spokesperson for the CID, confirmed the matter.
He said that a CID team visited Dhanmondi 32 in the morning and collected evidence from the scene.
However, he said further details cannot be provided at this moment.
Regarding the recovery of bones, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station, Ali Ahmed Masud, said that around two to three pieces of bones were found at Dhanmondi 32.
Following the finding, a CID team was called to the scene, and they collected the evidence, he said.
The CID members will now examine the evidence in their lab to determine whether the bones are of human or animal, the OC added.
