Miscreants set fire to the village home of Nuruzzaman Kafi, a content creator known for his social media commentary supporting the July Movement and various social issues. 

At the time of the attack, six members of his family, including his parents, were inside the house.

The incident occurred around 1:30 am on Tuesday (February 11) in Rajpara village, Kalapara upazila, Patuakhali. 

Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Kalapara Fire Service arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control after two hours of effort.

Station officer Mohammad Elias Hossain said that everyone inside the house was unharmed.

According to Kafi’s father Maulana Mohammad ABM Habibur Rahman, the miscreants locked the door from the outside before torching the house. Fortunately, all family members managed to escape without injury.

He said, "We demand a thorough investigation and justice."

Wali Ullah Imran, one of neighbours, said that the attack seemed premeditated, as the door was locked from the outside and everyone had to escape in a hurry.
