The price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder has been set at Tk 1,450 for March, down by Tk 28 from Tk 1,478 in February.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price at a press conference on Monday (March 3) at its office in Karwan Bazar. 

The new rates will come into effect from 6 pm.

According to new price, the 5.5kg LPG cylinder is Tk 664, a 12.5kg cylinder is Tk 1,450, a 12.5kg (special) cylinder is Tk 1,510, a 15kg cylinder is Tk 1,812, a 20kg cylinder is Tk 2,416, a 25kg cylinder is Tk 3,020, a 30kg cylinder is Tk 3,624, and a 45kg cylinder is Tk 5,436.

The price of autogas for consumers, including VAT, has been adjusted to Tk 66.43 per litre. Since April 2021, BERC has been setting LPG prices in line with international market rates.

LPG is available in cylinders ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg and is widely used for household cooking, restaurants, transport, and small to large industries.
