A man was killed after a truck hit his motorcycle in Satkhira.

The deceased was identified as Ahshan Habib Sumon, 45, manager of Al-Arafah Islami Bank’s Kaliganj sub-branch in Satkhira.

The accident happened around 4 pm on Monday (March 3) in front of Star Filling Station on the Kaliganj-Satkhira road. 

Habib succumbed to his injuries at 1 am while being taken to Khulna for advanced treatment.

According to locals, Sumon was returning home to Nalta Sharif on his motorcycle after work when a speeding truck from a nearby wash center suddenly entered the main road and hit him before fleeing the scene. He was critically injured and taken to Nalta Hospital. 

Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Jashore, but as his condition worsened, he was referred to Khulna, where he died on the way, said locals.
