LALMONIRHAT: Border Security Force (BSF) of India held a Bangladeshi national from Jongra border area under Patgram upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The nabbed was identified as Anisur Rahman, son of Uzir Ali, resident of the area.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said BSF personnel held Anisur while he was smuggling cattle through the border area around 8:00am.

Confirming the matter, Captain of BGB Lalmonirhat-15 Lieutenant Colonel Shafiul Alam Khan said that they sent a letter to BSF asking to hold a flag meeting.

However, the BSF refused to sit for a flag meeting and they would hand over the Bangladeshi national to Indian police, he added.
