The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two cases against Saima Wazed Putul, daughter of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
ACC Director General Md Akhtar Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday.
One case accuses Putul of securing her position as regional director at the World Health Organization’s South-East Asia Regional Office through fraudulent means.
The second case involves allegations of coercing 20 banks to deposit Tk 33 crore into accounts of the Shuchona Foundation, an organization founded by Putul.
On March 4, a Dhaka court ordered the ACC to freeze 14 bank accounts of the foundation, which held a balance of Tk 48.35 crore.
