Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday as the Shawwal moon was sighted on Sunday evening, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days.
With the sighting of the Shawwal moon, Ramadan ended in 29 days on the Arabic calendar this time.
Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus extended Eid greetings to the nation, wishing for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
In a video message, he urged people to visit the graves of their relatives, support the poor, and reflect on ways to improve their future.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman also conveyed Eid greetings.
The main Eid jamaat will take place at 8:30 AM on Monday at the National Eidgah, where the Chief Adviser will offer prayers.
