BOGRA: A district court here on Monday placed eight suspects detained on a five-day remand in a Sonali Bank heist case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shahriar Tarique granted the remand when the investigation officer of the case produced them before the court with a 10-day remand plea in the afternoon.

On Saturday evening, police found a tunnel through which robbers’ looted Tk 32.50 lakh from a Sonali Bank branch in Bogra.

Four people--two Ansar members, who were on security of the bank in Adamdighi upazila, the owner and an employee of the furniture house from where the tunnel started--were held in this connection.
