A total of 72 people were arrested so far in attacks and vandalism on businesses in different cities of the country during protests against the Israeli massacre in Gaza.
This information was reported on the verified Facebook page of Bangladesh Police on Wednesday (April 9) morning.
Of them, 33 people were arrested in Khulna, 19 in Sylhet, five in Chittagong, four in Gazipur, four in Narayanganj, three in Comilla and four in Cox's Bazar.
The release said that a total of 10 cases have been filed so far in attacks and vandalism on businesses.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser announced the arrest of 49 people in a release.
The release said that the police have taken prompt action against the violent and illegal incidents that took place in several cities of the country during protests in favor of Gaza on Monday. Such attacks and vandalism are an affront to public safety and the rule of law.
