Mild heatwave hits 6 districts, temperatures expected to drop

A mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Sirajganj, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Feni, Chattogram, and Patuakhali, with expectations of a gradual decline in temperatures in some areas.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued the warning this morning (April 10), noting that both day and night temperatures may experience slight reductions across the country.

In addition, rain and thundershowers, accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds, are expected in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Isolated showers are also forecasted for Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.

The BMD also reported that a well-marked low-pressure system over the Southwest Bay and adjoining West-central Bay has weakened into a low-pressure area, now located over the West-central Bay.

The system is expected to move north-northeastward and dissipate within the next 24 hours.

Yesterday, the highest temperature recorded was 37.0°C in both Srimangal, Sylhet, and Feni, Chattogram. The minimum temperature this morning was 19.5°C at Tetulia, Rangpur Division.

The sunset in Dhaka today will occur at 6:18 pm, while tomorrow's sunrise is expected at 5:41 am.
