A total of 167 Bangladeshi nationals have returned home from Libya with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the information in a press release on Friday (April 11).
According to the release, 16 Bangladeshis from Benghazi and nearby areas who wished to return, and 151 others from the Ganfouda Detention Centre, were brought back to the country on a chartered flight of Burak Air.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the IOM welcomed them at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
