FENI: Two people sustained bullet injuries in a clash between supporters of Awami League- backed and BNP-backed candidates in Dagonbhuiyan upazila parishad election on Saturday morning.

The indent took place at 8:00am at Uttar Alipur High School vote center of Matubhuiyan Union of the upazila over capturing the vote center.

Local sources said that supporters of AL-backed and BNP-backed candidates locked into a clash with firearms over capturing the vote center in the area, leaving two injured critically.

The injured were admitted to a local clinic.

On information, police rushed to the place and took the situation under control.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Dagonbhuiyan Thana said that the voting is underway and additional law enforcers were deployed in the vote center to avert further untoward situation.
