DHAKA: Ruling Awami League-backed aspirants won in 41 upazilas and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-backed candidates won in 28 upazilas while Jamaat backed seven aspirants won in the third phase of the 4th upazila polls.
Awami League
The ruling Awami League-backed candidates won in Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati district, Barlekha of Moulvibazar, Sribardi of Sherpur, Brahmanpara of Comilla, Dhanbari of Tangail, Alfadanga, Sadarpur of Faridpur, Mongla of Bagerhat, Kawkhali of Rangamati, Barlekha of Moulvibazar, Dakkhin Surma of Sylhet, Dinajpur Sadar, Naria of Shariatpur, Shariatpur Sadar and Dewanganj of Jamalpur, Daganbhuiyan of Feni, Netrokona Sadar, Hossainpur of Kishoreganj, Morelganj of Bagerhat, Faridpur Sadar, Hajiganj of Chandpur, Bhola Sadar, Sarankhola of Bagerhat, Babuganj of Barisal, Monirampur of Jessore, Chuddagram, Nangalkot of Comilla, Dhobaura of Mymensingh, Tungipara of Gopalganj, Pursha of Noagaon, Muladi of Barisal, Kaliganj of Satkhira, Kachua of Chandpur, Chilmari, Rowmari of Kurigram, Kurigram Sadar, Durgapur of Rajshahi, Sitakunda of Chittagong, Nilphamari Sadar, Rampal of Bagerhat, Bagerhat Sadar and Kurigram Sadar.

The BNP-backed aspirants won in Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat district, Kuliarchar upazila of Kishoreganj district, Bandarban Sadar, Alikadam of Bandarban, Charbhadrashan of Faridpur, Kishoreganj Sadar, Delduar upazila of Tangail, Sadar and Mohanganj upazilas of Netrokona, Ghior of Manikganj, Horipur of Thakurgaon, Jamalganj of Sunamganj, Sadullapur of Gaibandha, Burichang, Homna and Titas of Comilla, Modhukhali of Faridpur, Fhulbaria, Fhulpur, Gouripur of Mymensingh, Senbagh of Noakhali, Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria, Bholahat of Chapainawabganj, Charghat, Godagari of Rajshahi, Pikegachha of Khulna and Aditmari of Lalmonirhat, Nesarabad of Pirozpur, Kamolnagar of Laxmipur.
Jamaat
The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-backed candidate won in Damurhuda of Chuadanga, Gaibandha Sadar, Damirhat, Manda and Dhamoirhat of Naogaon and Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur district, Shibganj of Chapai Nawabganj.
Others
Awami League rebel candidate won in Naria upazila of Shariatpur and two JSS candidates in Barkal, and Baghachhari upazila and LDP candidate in Chandanish of Chittagong.
On the other hand, the Election Commission has postponed the results of election in two upazilas----Hizla of Barisal and Muktagachha of Mymensigh for postponement of voting in several centers of the upzilas following allegation of vote manipulation.
Earlier, the election took place in 81 upazilas of 41 districts across the country from 8:00am to 4:00pm Saturday without any break amid violence in different places.
