MYMENSINGH: An assistant presiding officer was run over by power tiller trolley in Nandail upazila of the district on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Ratan Kumar Dutt, 26, deputy-assistant officer of Ramgopalpur union of Gauripur upazila.

Police and local sources said that a trolley rammed into Ratan Kumar around 8:00pm while he was returning to Nandail by motorcycle after performing his duty in Gouripur Upazila elections, leaving him dead on the spot.

Nandail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
