DHAKA: The government fixed March 26 to make traffic signal effective apart from starting eviction drive to remove roadside illegal establishments.

The Communication Minister Obaidul Quader came up with the disclosure to journalists after a meeting at the ministry on Sunday.

The minister also said that two committees have been formed in this connection and they are asked to submit the report within a week. The actions will be implemented on the Independence Day.

Around 500 taxi cabs will avail in the city shortly. As first phase of the allocation, some 60 cabs will run the road from April 14.

State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan, State Minister of Local Government Ministry Moshiur Rahman Ranga and others were also present there.
