10-day holiday announced for Eid-ul-Azha

The government on Tuesday (May 6) announced a 10-day holiday for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The decision came during a meeting of the Advisory Council held at the Secretariat, with the Chief Adviser in the chair.

The development was shared on the verified Facebook page of Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

As part of the Eid holidays, offices will remain closed for 10 consecutive days. To make up for the long break, offices will be open on two Saturdays—May 17 and May 24.

Earlier, during Eid-ul-Fitr, the government had declared a 9-day holiday from March 28 to April 5. Initially, five days of holidays were announced, with an additional day declared under an executive order.
