DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid Advocate and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged all to inspire the young generation with a deep sense of patriotism possessed by Bangabandhu to work together for building ‘Sonar Bangla’.
The President and the Premier came up with their urges in separate messages issued on the occasion of 94th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day.
In his message, the President of the country urged all to inspire the young generation with a deep sense of patriotism possessed by Bangabandhu throughout his life.
He also expressed profound tribute to the memory of the great leader and best wishes and greetings to all children of the country.
Abdul Hamid said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bangalee of all times, since his boyhood was humane and generous but uncompromising on the question of establishing rights and always nourished Bangla, Bangalee and Bangladesh in his thought.
This undisputed leader, who is the exponent of Bangalee nationalism, raised his voice for achieving the rights of the Bangalee from his tender age. He was the dreamer of Bangalee nation, he said.
In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged all to work together being imbued with the spirit of the liberation war and turn Bangladesh into ``Sonar Bangla`` as dreamt by Bangabandhu sinking all differences.
She also conveyed her best wishes to the countrymen, especially the children, on this auspicious occasion.
"From his boyhood, Bangabandhu was fearless, courageous and humane, and he had an extraordinary intelligence. He was a visionary leader and possessed sharp memory. Bangabandhu was politically conscious and defiant," the Prime Minister said.
"He was the leader of the oppressed and deprived masses of the world and an instrument of realizing their rights and emancipation. His appealing and charismatic personality had united the entire nation in one string" she added.
