President, PM pay tribute to Bangabandhu

GOPALGANJ: President Abdul Hamid Advocate and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed floral wreaths at the grave of father of the nation in Tungipara of the district on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 94th birth anniversary and National Children’s Day-2014.

The President and the premier offered fateha there and joined a special munajat around 10:30am Monday.  

Meanwhile, an armed contingent of three forces gave a Guard of Honour to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The premier joined children’s convention and cultural program as chief guest at the Bangabandhu’s Mazar Complex around 10:45 in Tungipara.

Later, Sheikh Hasina will distribute stipend among poor and brilliant students at around 12:45pm.

Besides, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a book fair organized by Jatiya Granthakendra and will start for Dhaka at around 3:00pm by helicopter.

Mizanur Rahman, Superintendent of Police of the district told banglanews, that necessary steps have taken for PM’s security.

Some 650 members of PGR, SSF, RAB, Police and other law-enforcing unit have been carrying out the duty to ensure premier’s security, he added.
