The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that a mild to moderate heat wave is currently sweeping across much of the country, with no signs of immediate relief.
Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, and parts of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions are among the most affected areas.
Rangpur, Dinajpur, Kurigram, and Moulvibazar are also experiencing rising temperatures.
Meanwhile, Rajshahi and Chuadanga are facing a severe heat wave, recording scorching highs of 40°C and 41.2°C respectively on Friday.
Sylhet saw the country’s lowest temperature today at 22°C.
According to BMD meteorologist Md. Shaheenul Islam, the weather will likely remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies, and temperatures are expected to stay steady.
In Dhaka, sunset is at 6:32 PM today, with sunrise tomorrow at 5:18 AM.
