Three farmers were killed and one injured in separate lightning strikes in Kishoreganj on Sunday (May 11) afternoon.

The incidents occurred in Bhairab, Kuliarchar, and Hossainpur upazilas amid sudden thunderstorms.

The deceased were identified as Faisal Mia (28) of Srinagar village, Faruk Mia (65) of Rasulpur village, and Kabir Mia (25) of Hazarinagar village in Kuliarchar upazila. The injured, Abu Bakar (60) from Araibaria village in Hossainpur, is reportedly in stable condition.

According to locals, the farmers were working in their fields when lightning struck them. They were rushed to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Dr. Umme Habiba Jui from Bhairab Upazila Health Complex confirmed the matter.
