India Coast Guard Ship to Visit Ctg port

DHAKA: Indian Coast Guard ship ‘ICGS Vajra’ will pay a goodwill visit to Chittagong Port from March 20-23, 2014.

The goodwill visit is aimed to further enhance friendship and bilateral co-operation between the two neighbouring Coast Guards.

High Commission of India in Dhaka made the disclosure through a press release on Tuesday.

It said: “During the visit, Indian Coast Guard personnel will interact with Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel and also participate in cultural and sports activities.”

It also said: “The ship would also conduct an exercise with the Bangladesh Coast Guard.”

Vajra is an Offshore Patrol Vessel, indigenously manufactured by Mazagaon Dockyard Ltd, Mumbai. The ship is capable of performing anti-smuggling operations, search and rescue missions at sea and protection of maritime environment.
