The Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. 3.
This comes as a low-pressure area has developed over the northwest Bay and its adjoining region.
According to a Met office bulletin, the system is likely to intensify, bringing gusty or squally weather over the maritime ports, North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have been advised to stay close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
