Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, M Riaz Hamidullah, presented his credentials to Indian President Droupadi Murmu at a formal ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
President Murmu warmly welcomed Ambassador Hamidullah and reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties between India and Bangladesh, highlighting their shared sacrifices during the 1971 Liberation War.
She also praised Bangladesh’s assumption of the BIMSTEC chairmanship and emphasized the importance of connectivity and youth engagement for regional prosperity.
Ambassador Hamidullah conveyed greetings from Bangladesh’s President and pledged to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. He assumed office in New Delhi on 14 April 2025, succeeding Ambassador Mustafizur Rahman.
