Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has said that Bangladesh is going to hold the best national election in its history next year.
He made the remark on Wednesday (June 11) while speaking at a dialogue organised by the prominent UK-based policy institute, Chatham House, during his visit to London.
“We are on the verge of holding a real election after 17 years,” said Dr Yunus, adding “It will be the most acceptable, inclusive, and neutral election in our history.”
Dr Yunus said, “A Reform Commission has been formed to build new Bangladesh. Following theirs recommendations we are moving forward.”
“Our main task now is to build consensus among all political parties,” he added
Replying to another question, he said, “We are now waiting for the ‘July Charter’. It will be presented to the nation as the Charter of July.”
