DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that any killing in the name of Islam will not be tolerated.

She said on Saturday at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on the occasion of 39th founding anniversary of Islamic Foundation.

The PM said that people who are involved in creating violence in the name of religion will face trail.

She further said that Islam is a religion of peace. The killing people, creating violence and spreading bigotry are not the teaching of Islam.

Terming Bangladesh, a peaceful country in South Asia, she said, we should maintain this reputation by keeping peace sustainable.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established Islamic Foundation on March 22 in 1975 by an ordinance. Later on March 28, Islamic Foundation Act was formulated.
