DHAKA: The government will not take financial assistance from Islami Bank for the program of singing national anthem ‘Aamar Sonar Bangla’ by hundreds of thousands of people on the occasion of upcoming Independence Day that falls on March 26.
The disclosure came from a statement signed by joint secretary of the Bank and Financial Organization division of the ministry Arijit Chowdhury on Sunday.
Under the title ‘government’s statement regarding financial assistance from Islami Bank’, it said, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, as a financial organization, contributed Tk 3 crore to the program of national anthem.
According to the statement, cultural affairs ministry has declined to receive the money. That’s why the money will not be taken, it added.
