Juba League man killed in Jhalokati

JHALOKATI: A Juba League activist was killed in polls violence between ruling Awami League and BNP in Rajapur upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Hossain, 28, activist of local Juba League activist.

Officer-in-Charge of Rajapur Thana Nazrul Islam told banglanews that local Awami League and BNP activists locked into a clash at South Tarabunia Government Primary School centre around 11:00am Sunday, leaving the Juba League activist injured critically.

He was rushed to Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex from where he was shifted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) Hospital of Barisal, he added.

Later, Ripon Hossain succumbed to his injuries here around 4:30pm, the OC added.
