Uttara (West) Thana OC sued

DHAKA: A case was filed with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against the Officer-in-Charge of Uttara (West) Thana and six others on Tuesday in an allegation of killing a journalist.

Khalek Molla, the elder brother of the deceased journalist, filed the lawsuit against them with CMM court.

The accused are OC of Uttara (West) Thana Rafiqul Islam, Sub-Inspector Mamun and Harunur Rashid and four others.

Shah Alam alias Sagar, a journalist of a weekly died on March 2 by falling from the rooftop of the police station.

However, police filed a case against the principal of Trust College Bashir Ahmed and others for their alleged involvement in the killing.

On the other hand, the victim’s family claimed that police personnel killed Shah Alam.
