RAJSHAHI: At least four people, including a mother and her son, were killed and 20 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Basantapur area under Godagari upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Marium Begum, 55, and her daughter Mohiuddin.

Sub-Inspector of Godagari Thana told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost his control over the steering, leaving the mother-son dead on the spot and  at least 22 others injured.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where an old man and a child died later, the sub-inspector added.
