SIRAJGANJ: A policeman died of heart attack while performing polls-duty in Shajadpur upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman, an assistant sub-inspector of Rayganj Police Station of the district, also son of Abdur Rashid of Dowlatpur uazila of Kushtia.

Police and local sources said Asaduzzaman was on poll-duty at Gopinath Government Primary School police center of Khukni Union of Shajadpur. He fell sick at 10:00pm Sunday and died on way to nearby Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital.

Shajadpur Police Station Officer-In-Charge Hasan Shamin Iqbal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
