Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has called on American business leaders to expand their investments in the South Asian country, highlighting emerging opportunities across various sectors.

Speaking at a high-level roundtable discussion titled "US-Bangladesh Executive Business Dialogue" in New York on Wednesday (Sept 24), the Chief Adviser urged major US corporations to deepen their engagement with Bangladesh’s growing economy.

The event was hosted by the US-Bangladesh Business Council (USBBC), bringing together senior executives and policymakers from both nations.

According to Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, who briefed reporters after the meeting, Dr Yunus specifically encouraged companies such as MetLife, Chevron, and Xcelerate to explore and seize new avenues for investment in Bangladesh.

He underscored the country’s evolving economic landscape and the government’s commitment to fostering a pro-business environment.

The roundtable was also attended by six senior Bangladeshi political leaders accompanying the Chief Adviser on his official visit to the United States, reflecting Dhaka’s emphasis on strengthening economic diplomacy.
