Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN Headquarters in the United States today.
The bilateral engagement marked one of several high-level meetings held by the Chief Adviser during his visit to New York for the annual UN summit.
Earlier in the day, Professor Yunus held a separate meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at a local hotel, where discussions focused on safe migration, trade cooperation, and support for democratic transition in Bangladesh.
Additionally, the Chief Adviser met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on the UNGA sidelines, furthering diplomatic engagements with European counterparts amid Bangladesh’s ongoing political transition and reform efforts.
These back-to-back meetings underscore Bangladesh’s bid to strengthen international partnerships and share its evolving democratic and development narrative with global leaders.
